Protecting children from COVID-19

June 1, 2020

We have also heard news about the predicted COVID-19 outbreak in autumn 2020. While COVID-19 is predicted to spread anew it is important that communities take action to prevent further transmission and support control measures.

It is important to remember that COVID-19 does not differentiate between borders, ethnicities, disability status, age or gender.

The protection of children and educational facilities is particularly important in current situation. UNICEF notes on the necessity of precautions be taken to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 in school settings and the importance of avoiding the stigmatizing students and staff who may have been exposed to the virus.

“Maintaining safe school operations or reopening schools after a closure requires many considerations but, if done well, can promote public health”, - UNICEF reports.

The life and health of the society is not only a top priority of every state but also an area of personal responsibility of each person.
